The International Conference: “Facilitating the sterilization processes and the protection of the finished product” was held on 26-27.01.2012 in the “Borowiecki” hotel in Lodz.
The conference was attended by the representatives of the food industry brands a/o Nestle, Mars, Nutricia, Mispol, Animex, Bakalland, Bonduelle, Heinz, Pamapol, Graal and many others.

The themes were presented by:

• Dr. Gerhard Heim of Wigol,
• Mr. Bartłomiej Koźniewski- biotechnologist,
• Ms. Joanna Koźniewska- „Pol-Skór” technologist.

The organizers of the conference were: Pol – Skór and Wigol.

Food sterilization process requires a strict technological regime which includes the control of parameters such as temperature and process time. It is also important to maintain a suitable state of cleanliness of autoclaves and the packages delivered to them must be protected from permanent mineral and organic residues as well as from corrosion during the process of sterilization.

The conference was also an opportunity to present new microbiological tests, which are characterized by quick results at a relatively low price. Quick microbiological tests for the total number of micro-organisms and the presence of Salmonella help food producers avoid large losses.
